Published by Guardian Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Shora-ye Negahban), which brands itself in English as the Constitutional Council — the body constituted under Articles 91–99 of this Constitution and charged by Article 98 with its authoritative interpretation. Translated by Javad Arabshirazi and Hossein Beheshti Shakib; edited by Dr. Sam Torabi; under the supervision of Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei (PhD), a Guardian Council member. No translation year is stated; the page was published 2 June 2021 and the identical PDF re-uploaded November 2024. Persian is the sole authentic text and this English edition has no legal force. It is also deliberately unlike every other English version a reader will check: the translators transliterate institutions rather than translating them and argue for it in their endnotes, so the legislature is the "Islamic Shura Majlis", every council is a "Shura" — the Guardian Council itself appears as "Shura-ye Negahban" and the Supreme National Security Council as the "Supreme National Security Shura" — and "Nezam" is rendered "State". WIPO Lex, the Constitute Project and the Algar translation all read materially differently for the same article, so a quotation has to name this edition at the point of use.
